	2010 Special Awards and Trophies Back to Gallery
			William K. Victor Best of Show 1935 Duesenberg SJ Roadster Bohman & Schwartz Owner - The Auto Museum Cincinnati , OH Bill Victor has been one of the longest standing driving forces behind the Ault Park Concours d'Elegance. Since its earliest days as the Midwest Concours d'Elegance, he has held numerous positions ranging from Concours Chairman, Car Selection Chairman, Chief Judge and on to his many years as Master of Ceremonies. No one involved with the show has a broader or deeper knowledge of all vintages and makes of automobiles than Bill. His advice and contributions to making this show what it is today have been invaluable and it is for this reason that in 2009 the Best of Show trophy has been named in his honor from this year forward.

			The Carl H. Lindner, Jr. Trophy (Best Rolls-Royce / Bentley) 1934 Bentley 3 1/2 Litre H.J. Mulliner Drophead Coupe Owner - Cliff & Joyce Alexander Piqua , OH Carl Lindner has been a long time supporter and sponsor of the Ault Park Concours d'Elegance as well as a long time aficionado and collector of the legendary carmaker, Rolls-Royce which also encompasses Bentley vehicles. Carl's love for these fine automobiles has been shown by the numerous models he has displayed at the Concours over the years. This ongoing trophy is presented each year to the most outstanding example of a Rolls-Royce or Bentley in Carl's honor.
			Drivers Award Sponsored by Performance Alignment 1933 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Brewster Town Car Owner - Gregory Aarssen Chatham , ONT This trophy is awarded to the vehicle that is found to be the most desirable car to be driven on the day of the show. To be eligible, the owner must be willing to take the presenter, Dave Sheehy, for a drive in the chosen vehicle.
			Founder’s Trophy 1962 A.J. Watson Leader Card Roadster Owner - Robert B. McConnell Urbana , OH One trophy, awarded by Mrs. Helen Williams, to the vehicle best exemplifying the spirit of the original Concours d'Elegance, an event for car enthusiasts who love to drive their cars.
			Howard Rapp Trophy (Best Porsche) Sponsored by American Modern Insurance Group 1959 Porsche 356A Coupe Right Hand Drive Owner - Dick Weiss Cincinnati , OH Howard and Marian Rapp helped begin this event. Howard was the first car registration chairman and maintained that position for a number of years. He also solicited advertising and supported the event financially. Howard Rapp loved his 356 Porsches. He owned several during his life. Howard and his wife were very active members of the Porsche Club, traveling to many events over the years. This award is given in Howard's name, not to a car, but to an owner who best exemplifies Howard's rapture in the enjoyment of a Porsche.
			Jack O’Connor Trophy (Best Style & Elegance, Open Coachwork) 1940 Packard 1806 Convertible Victoria Darrin Owner - Gene & Sally Perkins Greenwood , IN As one of the founders of this event, Jack O'Connor orchestrated the "car" part of the first shows. His contacts in the old car hobby ran broad and deep. Jack loved open cars. He owned well over 100 different cars, almost all convertibles or roadsters. This award is given, in Jack O'Connor's name, to the open car that best represents his lifelong love of automobile style and elegance.
			E.P. Lunken Trophy (Best Ferrari) 1973 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spider Owner - Andrew Manganaro, MD Xenia , OH One trophy, awarded to the best Ferrari in memory of Ebby Lunken, noted Ferrari racer, enthusiast and long time supporter of the Concours.
			R.C. Fogle Trophy (Judges Choice) Sponsored by The Fogle Family 1909 Buick Roadster Owner - Indianapolis Speedway Museum Indianapolis , IN R.C. Fogle was active with this event as head judge and committee member from 1988 until his passing. R.C. loved all types of automobiles. His vast collection remains today as proof of his passion. Able to find beauty in all, he could never limit himself to just one marque. His collection includes models from the 1920's to the 1960's and includes both American and European models. This award is given in R.C.'s name, as Judge's Choice, to the outstanding car that represents both superior craftsmanship and style.
			Samuel Adams Award (Most Elegant Closed Coachwork) Sponsored by Samuel Adams Brewing Co 1933 Marmon V-16 Close-Coupled Sedan Owner - William L. Snyder Hudson , OH Samuel Adams Boston Beer Company has been an active sponsor of the Ault Park Concours d'Elegance. Founders Jim Koch and father Charles Koch of Cincinnati, avid collectors of classic era automobiles, present the Samuel Adams Trophy to the most elegantly styled closed-car.
			Best British Sports Car Sponsored by Dayton Wheel Concepts 1960 Jaguar XK 150S Roadster 3.8 Litre Owner - L. Jack Ruscilli Columbus , OH Being a manufacturer of new and restored historic wire wheels, Dayton Wheel Concepts of Dayton, Ohio sponsors this trophy on behalf of the great British passion for the sports car.
			Jim Ibold Preservation Award 1920 Mercer Raceabout Owner - Dr. John M Roberts V Cincinnati , OH A.James Ibold, known to most of us as "Jimmie", became enthralled with pre-war Alfa-Romeos after watching local mechanic Walter Moeller maintain an Alfa 308 for Indianapolis racing. In the early '50's, Jimmie acquired two, pre-war, 8 cylinder Alfa-Romeos. One was an 8C 2300 with a Figoni Drophead body. The other was what many consider the ultimate collectible car - a 1937 8C 2900B Touring Spider. His car was one of four short wheelbase cars. It was shown at the 1937 Earls Court Salon in London. The original owner was Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands. Jimmie spent 50 years preserving these cars as they came to him. He never stinted on anything either car needed mechanically. Many times parts had to be made from scratch as only 40 plus cars were ever built. Cosmetically, he did all he could to maintain the cars in their original condition. Jimmie loved these cars and drove them often for as long as he was able. We were fortunate to have Jimmie display these cars at Ault Park many times. The Jim Ibold Preservation Award is now named in his honor.

			Bill Hess Award for Design Excellence 1953 Cunningham C-3 Coupe Vignale Owner - Thomas R. Coady Jr. Paxton , IL Bill Hess' legacy with Hess & Eisenhardt is characterized by a dedication to design and building of quality custom automobiles. One of the most advanced stylists in the business, his customers included Presidents, actors and kings who chose his vehicles for their beauty and quality. He believed that a company that produced a quality product would endure. It is for that accomplishment that this award is given for design excellence.

			Bill Rudd “Best Vette” Honorary Trophy 1966 Chevrolet Corvette 427/425 Convertible Owner - Douglas K. Hawley Cincinnati , OH Over thirty years ago a small group of people, including Bill Rudd, started the first Concours d'Elegance with a twofold purpose. First, it was an event to raise monies for the many worthwhile activities of the Arthritis Foundation. Secondly, it was an opportunity for local car collectors to socialize and share their interest in cars. Bill and his family have managed the entry gates of the Concours ever since. Bill's favorites were the Corvettes, particularly the earlier straight axle cars. Bill succumbed to the effects of his severe arthritis in 2007. We honor his 30-year participation by presenting the annual Bill Rudd best Corvette Award.
